Brief description:

Commonwealth Scholarships for Master’s degree studies in the United Kingdom is given to citizens from developing Commonwealth countries. These Commonwealth scholarships are always funded by the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID).

It is important that you should take advantage of applying for the Commonwealth Scholarships to study at a United Kingdom university which has a part funding agreement with the CSC.

For the Masters Degree Programme under six themes:

  4. Strengthening global peace, security, and governance
  5. Strengthening resilience and response to crises
  6. Access, inclusion, and opportunity

 

The target group for the Commonwealth Scholarships:

The citizen that has been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, are the major group for the scholarship.

Value/inclusions:

the Scholarship makes provision for transportation to and from UK, examination and tuition fees, thesis grant (if applicable), stipend, initial arrival allowance, and others. It is necessary that you refer to the Commonwealth Scholarships in 2019 Terms and Conditions for full scholarship benefits.

 

Eligibility for the Commonwealth Scholarships:

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • the applicant must be resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2019

 

Application instructions for the Commonwealth Scholarships:

The Commonwealth Scholarship does not accept direct applications for these scholarships.

It is necessary that all interested applications must be going through one of these nominating bodies that are involved in the selection process.

The body in charge of nominating is responsible for its own selection process. All applicants must check with their various nominating organization for their rules for applying.

The applicants must make their application using the Commonwealth Scholarship Electronic Application System (EAS)

Any other provided application form that you are required to complete by your organizing body.

The applications, including full transcripts, must contain all your university qualifications), must be submitted.
